TUI Deutschland GmbH now uses the Open Travel Data Standard (OTDS) to significantly improve the data quality of its leisure travel offers in the sales channels.
Since March 1st TUI Deutschland GmbH delivers the entire hotel-only portfolio of all German TUI tour operator brands as well as of Gulet (Austria) in the OTDS standard to the distribution system of Traveltainment. The common OTDS integration project of TUI, Traveltainment, and Bewotec was started in September 2016 and is fully on schedule. „Bewotec is converting the EDF travel offer data of TUI in OTDS and delivers it to Traveltainment on a daily base“, explains Bewotec’s CEO Michael Becher the procedure. There the TUI travel data are processed and calculated. Subsequently they are available to travel agencies via Traveltainment Bistro Portal as well as in Traveltainment IBEs on numerous Online Travel Portals. In addition the distribution systems Traffics and Schmetterling will process TUI offers transferred in the OTDS standard in the near future.
It is the declared goal of TUI to reach a very high data quality in the distribution systems of the German, Austrian, and Swiss market. This is why the travel offers are now being distributed also in the OTDS standard. Dr. Oliver Rengelshausen, CEO of Traveltainment and Chairman of the OTDS association, is excited that with TUI the market leader now takes advantage of the benefits of OTDS.
Currently the hotel-only offers of TUI Deutschland, Airtours, 1-2-FLY, Gulet, and Terra Reisen went live in OTDS in the Traveltainment systems. The package travel of these tour operator brands and the Datamix components of XTUI and X1-2-FLY will be migrated next. TUI will also convert the travel products of TUI’s Swiss brands TUI Suisse, Airtours Suisse, and 1-2-FLY Suisse to OTDS.
