At the annual General Assembly of the OTDS association in Cologne on April 18, 2018, the members elected Matthias Deppe of Traffics Softwaresysteme für den Tourismus GmbH to complete the Board of Directors. The election became necessary due to the dismissal of Bernd Nawrath from Traffics, who had been a member of the OTDS Board of Directors since September 2015.
This means that the Berlin-based technology company, a co-initiator of the OTDS format, will continue to be represented on the executive committee of the Association for promoting the Open Travel Data Standard.
Matthias Deppe joined Traffics in March 2016 as Director Supplier Relationship. His career includes various management positions at Reisecenter alltours, the online portal ferien.de, Ferien Touristik, BigXtra, FTI, and Lindner Hotels. From 2010 to 2013, Deppe already worked for Traffics and headed the Project Management/Operations team before moving to TUI as Head of Strategy Sales Systems.
“I am looking forward to work on the OTDS-Board, as the association is developing an ever greater dynamism”, said Matthias Deppe after his election. “I think that my experience in sales, tour operator businesses and travel technology can help to establish OTDS even more profoundly in the market and to drive forward the further development of the format.
Also on April 18, the OTDS Board elected Haiko Gerde (TraSo GmbH) as Deputy Chairman alongside Michael Becher (Bewotec GmbH). Dr. Oliver Rengelshausen (Traveltainment GmbH) continues to chair the Board.
