OTDS data in CETS PowerSearch – Travelport Austria connects OTDS players from various tour operators

CETS, the leading travel agency tool in Austria and Switzerland, will shortly – in addition to EDF and INFX – also be working with the OTDS data standard. This is realized by a connection of the OTDS players from BEWOTEC to CETS PowerSearch from Travelport. So future search inquiries from travel agents at tour operators FTI Group, Bentour, Schauinsland and Gruber Reisen will address their respective OTDS players via a hub and will be responded with offers from them.

The OTDS format as a guarantor for high data quality even with very large offer volumes also supports the search for alternative flight times, total family prices and direct flight connections. Important PowerSearch specifics such as the display of the number of rooms in hotels or the Travelport-specific definition of regions are also taken into account.

Dieter Rumpel, Managing Director Germany, Austria & Switzerland at Travelport, on the successful project: “As one of the leading leisure distribution systems in Europe, we are keen to support all the renowned data formats in CETS PowerSearch. This means that tour operators are free to decide which data format they prefer for the provision of offers. By using the BEWOTEC OTDS player infrastructure, we can very easily query the offer data of important tour operators.”
Michael Becher, Managing Director of BEWOTEC, added: “Now that Travelport is also working with OTDS with its CETS system, the format is also gaining further acceptance in Austria and Switzerland. I am particularly pleased about this in my role as a board member of the OTDS association.”

The construct is technically easy to expand if relevant tour operators in the Austrian and Swiss markets make their OTDS players available for connection via the hub.
