The OTDS-Advantage

Under the company name Traveltainment, Amadeus, together with its partners Bewotec and Traffics, launched the OTDS initiative.

OTDS removes the restrictions of the previous data formats in travel distribution and enables a better presentation of the ever more complex travel offers. Tour operators and distribution systems benefit equally from a uniform, common and free data standard. More efficient data production due to the more compact, rule-based OTDS format, faster data updates due to incremental updates as well as noticeably optimized volume of data deliveries have clear advantages for data quality in the distribution channels.

In addition to the possibility of incorporating further and tour operator-specific attributes, the data format transfers all relevant price calculations and numerous new options - for example for alternative flight connections, the now possible calculation of family prices or more complex room occupancies. The standard's popularity from all areas of the industry is extraordinarily positive and shows the enormous relevance and necessity of a flexible, open and accessible data standard for leisure travel.
