ECCO-Reisen switches its offer production to OTDS

With ECCO-Reisen from Hanover, another tour operator has now switched its data production to the OTDS format. The specialist for vacation in Egypt uses the OTDS module of the WBS Blank software to produce its portfolio, which besides Egypt covers the Canary Islands, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey, in the powerful data format. It is also used for ECCO’s newly added products in the sector of individually arranged arrivals.

The recipient and processor of the OTDS data, which includes total fares as well as alternative flights and direct flight information, will initially be the Amadeus Leisure Travel distribution system – others, including Traffics, will follow in the third quarter of 2021. By then the data will also be available in the IBE on the ECCO website.

With OTDS, around 120 million data records for all hotel-only and package tour offers from ECCO are produced in less than an hour. The offer prices calculated from OTDS match the prices reported back from the tour operator system after a booking request by 93 percent. In addition, the offers are available by 94 percent. ECCO’s OTDS thus far exceeds the data quality of conventional formats such as INFX.

For Samy Sadek, owner and managing director of ECCO-Reisen, it was important to push ahead with the switch to a modern data format, especially during the Corona crisis: “So now that booking numbers are picking up again thanks to the relaxation of travel restrictions, we are positioned in sales with optimal data quality.”
